Kumiki | Modular Vase Collection

Rooted in the logic of Japanese kumiki—the art of joinery without glue or nails—the collection is conceived as a system of interlocking elements that can be assembled, disassembled, and used independently. Each vase is both a complete object and part of a larger, flexible composition.

The collection is developed in three heights—73 cm, 58 cm, and 43 cm—while maintaining consistent proportions in all other dimensions. This ensures a coherent visual language while allowing for multiple spatial configurations.

A subtle interplay between glossy and matte finishes articulates the construction, emphasizing the presence of distinct yet autonomous components. Each element is designed to be self-contained, reinforcing the idea of modularity and independence.

The base and the upper element are conceived as equivalent forms—interchangeable and reversible—further extending the system’s adaptability.

Entirely handmade in ceramic in Faenza—the historic Italian capital of ceramics—the collection combines artisanal craftsmanship with precise structural logic, in which assembly becomes both a functional and an aesthetic act.
